Today we heard news of our helper-outerers. The Snow Dragon or Xue Long is due to arrive in a couple of hours. I’m pretty sure they’re sending choppers to assess our situation. It’ll be good because it will be the first sign of civilisation outside of this ship. The French ship is meant to arrive around 4‘o’clock in the morning tomorrow. The Aurora Australis is roughly 2 or 3 days away.
There are a couple of upsides to this ice though. My main one is that they (every now and then) let us go outside and muck about. This very morning we were allowed down by the side of the boat and me and Sean collected ice for forty minutes and built an igloo. I got a couple of shots of it on my Iphone. The igloo didn’t last long though because when they called us to come back in, me and Sean dived through it and made a messy photo for a few people.
Later we went down to the auditorium and watched Alok and Laurence show their videos that have been posted on The Guardian. I was lucky enough to have already seen them as I give them chocolate and they let me see the videos.
Finally me and a couple other passengers went downstairs and did our daily fitness. Today was mainly about core development.
And so today seemed quite eventful to what I was expecting. Plus it was great fun.
