We’ve been on the boat for nearly twenty four hours now. I have already recovered from being ill and am now spending my time playing Scrabble and going to small lectures in the auditorium. This ship is surprisingly nice, when my Dad showed me images I thought it would be an old, dirty cargo ship, instead it is well kept up and has full facilities.
Last night was the worst it’s been so far. The boat was rocking side to side (port to starboard) and back to front. The whole family was struggling and half the people onboard didn’t make it to dinner. According to Greg Mortimer it”s is meant to be getting a lot better soon but common sense is telling me not to get my hopes up.
This morning I started a game of Scrabble against the two guys from the guardian, Alok and Lawrence. After a couple of arguments we’ve decided that we’re going to set up a ship wide Scrabble tournament. I’m pretty sure it’ll create many more arguments but at least it will give us something to keep busy.
I’d say that the last day has been great except for the beginning seasickness. Next time I talk to you I’ll be much better at Scrabble.
